Welcome to my Blog!

Thank you for reading my first blog post on my new Rosie the History Teacher website! I am excited to finally have this space up and running to share my teaching adventures and resources. Blogging my teaching experiences has always been my plan, and I even had a blog that I posted to regularly during my student teaching, but somehow, between 2013 and 2019 life got really busy and blogging didn’t happen. If you are curious about where my career has taken me during those 6 years, please click on the “about” tab.

Now I just want to share the purpose of this blog. This is for me and for you. I am a reflective and nostalgic person who likes to look and remember things from years past to see how I’ve grown or to reminisce about the wonderful little things in life. A blog helps me to stay accountable for recording the stories and is like a virtual scrapbook. I have often looked back on my student teaching blog and smiled about the amazing memories. This blog is also for you. I see far more elementary school blogs than high school blogs, so I hope that this might be helpful to my fellow secondary education teachers. I plan to share a variety of resources (both free and paid) and tips, strategies, lessons learned, etc. I welcome conversation about teaching, either in blog comments or on my social media channels. If you would like to follow my adventures, simply subscribe to my blog, like my Facebook (linked below), or follow me on Instagram (also linked below). If you are an avid reader (especially if you like historical fiction, biographies, WWII and English Royalty history books) follow along with me on Goodreads (linked below) to see what I’m reading each year as I work toward a new reading challenge.

I might be a little rusty on blogging, but I am excited to get back into it! Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to read my first post. I look forward to sharing this adventure with you!
